Need cheap one way flight USA - UK

Any ideas? We need a one way flight from the Orlando area to the UK following a transatlantic cruise. We did have a flight booked with Globespan for £500 for two of us. Virgin are about £550 each. We don`t mind connecting flights or a charter.
We are looking for Oct. Any help appreciated.

You dont give more precise dates or say which UK airports you can fly to so advice is limited by that. Skyscanner and Kayak are good for comparisons but you should be aware that it might be cheaper buying a return flight because one way flights USA - UK can be expensive.

One alternative amongst the scheduled airlines is Aer Lingus, via Dublin, as their one way flights are more reasonable.

I can't advise on charter flights, sorry, but someone else might assist on this possibility.
  • Hi there,

Try British Airways - we were also booked with Globespan to go to Orlando next June and have just re-booked with B.A. - who were £300.00 cheaper!

Meant to say - try Trailfinders - they were cheaper than the B.A. website

I rather suspect that you have booked a return flight rather than a one way.
  • Hello again - we are looking for dates around 5th Oct and we can be flexible. Flying into any northern airport.
I wonder why single fares are so much dearer than return fares?
One thing I`m thinking of is trying Canadian Affair - their flights from Toronto aren`t too bad, if they`l l let me book just a single flight- plus we could go to Niagara Falls. If i can get flights for £500 and not £1100 we can spend the money on a few nights somewhere else.

Hi....just to give us something to work on - when you say "northern" do you mean Inverness or Aberdeen or do you mean Northern English (MAN/LBA/NCL etc). Really, you do have to help us to help you.
  • Hello again - sorry for the lack of useful info. Birmingham northwards but no further north than Glasgow or Edinburgh. We live in Cumbria so anywhere within a 3.5 hour radius will do.

Hi, and Happy New Year  The cheapest scheduled I'm coming up with is MCO-DUB-MAN (or BHX) on 5 October at $542 per pax, on Aer Lingus. Downside is a 5 hour layover at DUB.

AirTransat, a low-cost Canadian carrier, might be worth a look. They sell outbound and return legs separately so you wouldn't get stung for the one way flights.

A very quick play with their flights gives MCO-YYZ-MAN on 5 & 6 October for about £300 per head.

If it helps, you are not alone with this angst; we may want one-way to the Caribbean this spring. The BA flights are fine time wise but the return is about £500 while the one way is £1800. Happily there's a workaround if we book via a codeshare.
