Anybody been to Slovenia/car hire

Im travelling to slovenia in august and id like to rent a car for a few days, can any of you reccomend the best car hire firm and possibly a discount code??

Any advice on hiring a car would also be very helpful as its my first time.

Also if any of you have ever been to slovenia, any tips and places to stay or visit would be very helpful.

We went to Slovenia last September and arranged a hotel before we went but we discovered a wonderful Hostel in the charming town of Piran. Have a look at their website : https://www.hostel-val.com and if you end up staying there do let me know what you thought.

Slovenia is a lovely country.

If you are visiting for just a few days, you might like to stay in the capital Ljubliana which is a beautiful city (and of course where the airport is).

Lake Bled is worth visiting for its chocolate box scenery; there are also some interesting caves and mountains if you like that sort of thing.

We did hire a car for one day when we were there but it was donkey's years ago and hence our advice would be out of date; it won't be dead cheap for car hire though unfortunately.

Hi Money Magic , we went to Lake Bled last year in February and will be going back in 14 days time , although I am not counting , tee hee. We love the place ,it really chills you out and the people are friendly. Last year we hired our car from Budget which we got for diddly money , however this year because we are travelling peak time the quote was more expensive. I saw another post from someone who had used https://www.argusrentals.com and they are providing a car for us at a good price. We are only going for 3 days but Lord E and I get the chance to rewind without the sproglets, and the hotel we are staying at has a special wellness centre, so lots of treatments,saunas,swimming etc. Sheer bliss !!
