Faulty purchase on Ebay

  • The problem is, as we have found out with jewellry for the 2nd year running, you buy the item and wear it (or in this case use the computer) a few times, and only after a week or so afterwards (or after Christmas day in this case) do the problems come out such as jewelry turning fingers blue, or as for this guy the computer not working, but you already leave feedback as it all looks ok on the surface until the problems arise a few weeks later

I had the same problem buying a golf club that turned out to be fake some time later when I did some investigation. In the end I complained to Ebay and they took action and refunded me.

Try them if you have only gone via Paypal so far.

I've just read the description of that item and had to read it twice to spot that. This guy seems very dodgy, the working status of the laptop should be clear in the description. I'm surprised that he only has 2 negative feedback in the last 6 months with selling practices like that

That's because he is using the account to buy as well, seperate out the feedback from selling only and it looks a lot worse.

This is 'not with a bargepole' time.

Hi Im desperate for some advice.I purchased a laptop off Ebay last week for my daughters Xmas. We paid £200. However when we received it only works for 10 minutes before switching off. I contacted seller several times and he ignored every email I sent. I purchased a new battery-an additional £50 but still made no difference.I had no option but to start claim with Paypal since thats how i paid. After ONE day of investigating they decided in sellers favour:mad: not sure how the came to that decission so quickly and with NO correspondence from me. I have a video clip of exactly what it does and receipts from new laptop which we had to bu on Xmas Eve for my daughters Xmas. I dont know what to do when seller ignores my emails and Paypal have decided in his favour saying item was as described, which it clearly WAS NOT!! It wasnt listed as spares/repairs which it is:( Please help! As £250 is £250 I cant afford to lose!

As previous said I'd get onto paypal, if they can't help try ebay directly.

Agreed - many of the positive comments are actually negative!
