Self Service Manchine Tescos

On the 23rd Dec I went to Tesco's I remember specifically what I bought and the bill came to £8. I used a self service machine and paid via debit card.
A finest melt in the middle chocolate pudding £5
bag of cranberries £2
sandwich for big issue seller outside £1
However, on my online bank statement it shows my card paid this amount as well as £14.40. What should I do about this?
It's the same store on the same day with the same card (that I still have) so I doubt I have been card frauded but I have been charged this additional sum.
Has this happened to anyone else?

If the payment is showing as being taken by Tesco, it's probably not worth attempting to explain over the phone but get a printed copy of your statement and your receipt together and head over to their customer services desk.Male.

A receipt it out of the question at this date, no chance in finding it, most probably ended up in the bin, I wouldn't have a receipt for this other amount though.
I'm most probably going to have to ring up customer services and explain to them and see what happens, it's nothing to lose sleep over but its also somewhat annoying and I don't understand where it has come from. They should print out pdq slips.0 -
Give the store a ring ASAP and explain the situation and ask them to pull off any receipts for you bank card for that date. They will obviously need your full card number from the front of your card. They can do this up to a month after the transaction. You are best of doing this bit by phone to give them chance to go to the computer in the back office to do it, if you just walk into store and there is only 1 person on the customer service desk you may have to wait.
Arrange a time to go in and speak to the customer service manager. Take your bank statement in with you to show both transaction, checking that it is not from either another store, or another date. Each store puts their store ID on the transaction as well as the date it actually happen rather than the date it came from your bank. I'd give you an example but Natwest online is down at the moment.
Hope that helps. If you find you are drinking too much give this number a call. 0845 769 75550 -

They will be able to backdate transactions so as long as you take in your bank statement and can maybe give them a rough idea which self scan checkout it was, they can pull up your transaction and tell you what you scanned.0

Didn't stop for petrol on the way home did you?
Just I often forget to allow for that on my statements0 -
I forgot to mention this! A little while ago I was at B&Q and used the self service. Naturally something went wrong but the woman overseeing them was happy! She even made a joke asking me if I was upsetting the computer! I was gobsmacked, especially since I'd just came from a nearby ASDA where the machines were overseen by the usual; someone who's nose would fall off if they smiled.Male.
