  • I doubt it, it would be a waste of good scientific research time as if we were being irradiated by our household wiring the whole nation would have disrupted sleep. Something the Daily Mail would be onto like a shot.
If the OP's wiring is faulty it will demonstrate through blown fuses and electric shocks, not radiation sickness.

I doubt it too but someone mentioned supposed evidence earlier in this thread. Radiation sickness certainly wouldn't happen as that term is usually only used to describe what happens when ionising radiation levels are so high that it affects the gut. Even at the chernobyl accident there were very few people that ended up with radiation sickness.

QUOTE It could be time to make yourself a tinfoil hat, this will block out most EM radiation as well as protecting you from unwanted alien mind control.

WOW where would you get one of those hats or perhaps we could all make our own out of tin foil do you know where the patterns are available from
  • I used the term radiation sickness loosely to indicate any ill health caused by radioactivity eg anxiety thru death. Unfortunately there's no solid evidence available about who suffered what from Chernobyl, even the death stats are unreliable. Just as in this country there is no accurate evidence about who was contaminated by the Chernobyl fallout, despite what UKAEA, NRPB endeavour to claim.

It just amused me that someone could get radiation sickess from the electrical wiring in their home. I realised it was your intention to point out how ridiculous that it was.

I think it is fairly clear that the biggest health effects from radiation of any type are psychological - mostly unnecessary worry. As it seems has been practised by the feng shui consultant.
There is reasonable data on the rescue workers from chernobyl and no significant evidence of increases in cancer (despite the predictions) - except the increase in childhood thyroid cancers which could have been avoided if it wasn't for the secrecy in the soviet union.
  • I'm interested in Chernobyl as I was significantly contaminated by the fallout, and I've had my cancer. If the UK couldn't collect accurate and reasonable stats for UK citizens why would the Russians have collected reasonable data for their citizens?

What do you class as significantly contaminated. Are you suggesting your cancer was caused by chernobyl? How do you know?
The data that is sketchy is the actual doses received. These are difficult to assess and are based on estimates. However there has been lots of followup of cancer rates in the countries surrounding chernobyl and, apart from the childhood thyroid cancers, no evidence has yet to be found that cancer rates were increased. That even goes for the rescue workers who got much higher doses than anyone else.

100 times one normal level of one caesium isotope and 10 times the other one, sorry can't remember the caesium numbers. If I wanted to suggest my cancer was caused by Chernobyl I would have made that clear. I didn't because the chance of proving that would be vanishingly small.

Apololgies to the OP -I've gone off thread.

NMM - if you'd like to discuss my experience of Chernobyl contamination and my thoughts on it I'm happy for you to PM me. Best wishes.

Glad you realise that. Most people don't. Also glad that (I assume) you've beaten the cancer.

I'm fairly interested in Chernobly too. Not got much else to say except that even 100 times the normal level is not necessarily dangerous. What really matters is what radiation dose you received and to where. However, as you realise, the increase in risk of cancer would be extremely small (if there is indeed any risk at all). I'm happy for you to PM me if you do want to discuss anything further.

To try and bring this back on topic. The point I was trying to make was that in general by far the biggest effect of radiation (be that from household electrics, nuclear power or medical x-rays) is from the fear of the radiation. In the OP the fear is being used to create a negative financial effect, but the fear can be so great that it starts to cause negative health effects. In fact, worrying about all this radiation in your house could cause you to have trouble sleeping...! :)

Not long since I was reading a report on a MIT investigation in to what would happen if a person wore a tinfoil hat to disrupt mindcontrol (PHD's must have nothing better to do  ), and they found that it actually amplifies the effect of EM radiation rather like an aerial, so in effect your helping it along by wearing the foil. :p

    hi there

Thanks for all the help and ideas, I am going to give this a lot more thought before acting.

Heath Robinson, a pointy foil hat, don't be daft, I invested in one of those little beauties years ago. It's child friendly, eco friendly, dog friendly and cat friendly and the best part is, it only cost three hundred quid (a bargain as I really feel safe now, well I did until that feng shui lady told me about the radiation). Lol Aliens can no longer invade my thoughts, although when flying saucer comes over my house (with its nasty, yucky radiation, bleurgh) I still have to stick my fingers in my ears and shout lalalalalalalalala so I can't hear them!!

with warm (but not frazzled wishes)
