  • Argh... Just checked Capital one account and it seems that I paid my bill a day too late (was due on the 29th but I must have got my days muddled and paid it on the 30th, although I was sure it would be on time) and got charged a late fee of £12 which took me over my limit by 50p so have received a £12 over limit fee! Annoyed that they can charge me £12 for being 50p over the limit, especially as it was their fee that took me over. I must set up a direct debit so I don't pay late again!

Also not having much luck with online surveys. I've been signed up for a few months now, but more often taht not I answer a few quesions only to be told I don't qualify (This has been happening loads recently). Finally was accepted for one today and after at least 10 minutes the page went blank and I couldn't retrieve it  Oh the joys!

    HI SS,
Well If you can stick to £25 for both of you, than you have to give me tips, we spend around £50 at the moment:eek:. We cook everything from scratch, and he takes pack lunch to work, we don't drink alcohol or squashes, and we certainly don't buy sweets. We do however spend appr. £20 on fruits and veg, so that's a major part of our shopping budget.

I saw lots of people running today, I did as well, till the gym:o. It's freezing cold outside!

Veg is expensive. If we do manage to keep it down to £25 I think it will mostly be down to the fact that we have lots of tins like chick peas, soups, veg etc and various sauces/powders/pasta/rice that we have bought before when we were trying to cook more (but usually failed :o) We would get all 'inspired' in the supermarket :rotfl:will come in handy now though!

Most of our money goes on salad (I'm veggie ;)), can be really expensive although went to our local green grocers the other day and bought some lovely tomatoes, cucumber, potatoes, peppers and chillies for under £5 and they stayed fresh so much longer than the stuff we usually buy from the supermarket, was really impressed. I've also tried Aldi for veg but have never been impressed when I've been in, could just be my particular store but never seems to be much there!
  • Went about a job today through an agency. Turned out to be a complete waste of time as they said they needed someone who could drive (agency knew this and said, some sort of mix up) Hubby took half a day off to take me in the snow as well. Would have been even more annoyed if I'd had to get the 2 buses in the cold! Received a couple of emails about other jobs so we'll see.

Food budget: All spent now! However, should have enough food until saturday when we'll go shopping again.

Paid on credit card today: £20

    Spends today:

Red magazine £3.50 (I've stopped buying trashy mags but I have my limits, and I learn things from this magazine )

    Hi Starry,
How are things? Still reading the Red magazine and no time for MSE? ;)
