Its like when you accelerate the fuel doesn't get through and its always like its about to stall. When you are sat and its idle you can hear the engine chugging and struggling away. Its a Flipping ford grrrr I hate it and can't wait to get rid

  • Chugging, thats the word. When I had that - and it is a strange driving sensation - it was was the engine coils. And felt exactly as you describe. Bet you google throws up loads of results for Ford chugging.

  • Have to tell 'em it's not right Sal, you are right it is the woman thing, and I've always felt they don't believe me when I say it doesn't feel right.
I would love to do a car maintenance course, can just about top up coolant at the moment, one day I may advance to screenwash.

Ok I wish I hadn't googled problems now....
It appears that there is a known problem with O2 plate focus's with the engine failure pistons breaking or the rods being thrown...the complaits are that it acts chuggy, like the idel was really low or like the engine wasn't getting enough fuel and was on the brink of stalling...

    This is my car exactly!

Glad the skirts fit ok sammy, what else does she need...shall I ask Nats lol!
I think I am a natural born organiser...Ive taken to carrying a laminated sheet around in my bag with my list of things to do and then I can add things as I go along...Its the only way I remember! I'll happily be your PA :)

No chance of R coming tonight and to be honest im in such a foul mood he's best to stay away

  • Sammy, I am a total plonker when it comes to cars, but I've had chugging problems with my renault twice, and it was the coils. Dealer wanted £250 to replace and fit, got the last lot from ebay for £50 and did it myself. Safe to say whenever anything goes wrong I now think it's the coils !

Anyway sending positive thoughts to you Sally for car troubles and a better weekend from here on in :)
