Yay...just catchin up. I know the basics Sally so just gonna jump right in.

Pints of sherry don't count sally, you will have to get used to drinking them little thimble things.

I moved in with my OH virtually straight away and even then I knew what would irritate me about him. You know what our relationship is like, you do put up with irritants when the man you are in love with is at heart a good man with no malice in him. Hindsight is a wonderful thing but not something that we are generally blessed with. Go with the flow.....

Hope the school situation works out...who cares if the school will 'mind' about the afternoon, its one afternoon and B's happiness is what matters. Are you telling the school, cos you can bet your life that B will go back and tell all her friends all about it.

Chloe has been to visit her new school this week, and it has a reputation as a carp school. However, I have so far been very impressed with the love and care they show the children. My others went to 'good' schools and while they got results academically I feel they failed on the pastoral care - although I do feel I am partly to blame for this by my anti establishment attitude.....

sorry went off into my own little world then..

You are right about the schools sammy...yes the results are important but for me its about the pastoral care, which is what B needs, shes bright enough to get through but being a sensitive soul I want a teacher and staff who are prepared to give them a hug if needed, sod the stupid laws of being able to hug children! Im sure B will tell them, so am going to be upfront and say im taking her to look around some new schools...end of the day she's not yet 5 so legally doesn't have to be in school so they can't stop me lol :)

Have you bought any school uniform yet? I must sort through B's stuff, sure there are age 3 skirts that won't fit around her middle lol

I haven't bought her anything yet Sally, bit skint at the minute...working hard but money not coming in fast enough yet! one day I will be rich.

So a couple of skirts would be fantastic if you could send them to me.

Are you not allowed to hug children?

I am not letting John take chloe to school, her new teacher is a young blonde bombshell!

When does B turn 5? We moved when M was in reception (she was 4 at the end of the May and started school in the September), it was christmas time and the local village school didn't have a place but had a nursery unit attached, after going through the whole appeal process (which was a waste of time as they really don't budge unless you've been discriminated against) we decided to send her to the nursery unit in the hope that a place would come up before her next birthday...which it did.

Yes she'd done 3 months of reception before we took her out but she got the social interaction at the nursery unit (she stayed for after school club 2 evenings a week too so she'd mix with those her age) and I kept up the reading and writing at home with her - when she actually started she was the highest level reader in the class.

    Good luck today x

Pooky she will be 5 in August so has done 1 year in school so moving into year 1. Im pretty sure from what Ive been told that the appeal process for those that just want a particular school because is pretty fruitless however they kind of have to make space available for children moving into the area...otherwise where else would they go? Im feeling quite positive about it all and if needs must she can always stay where she is until a space becomes available its just I don't particularly want to be doing the 40 mile round trip everyday
