Hiya
I currently work 16 hrs a week, i get DLA (High Rate Mobility and Middle rate care)
and also WTC
However my DLA is up in jan, i messed up some of the questions on the DLA renewal form, so asked for a reconsideration giving them more info, and hope to get an answer soon
But if i lose my DLA, will i be entitled to any WTC
Ive looked at the website but one or two of the pages under the definitions of 'disabled' didnt work for me
Im worried about how ill cope losing my DLA and WTC and just living off my 16 hrs a week wages, when im struggling with that as it is!

If you are over 25 you can claim WTC, if however you are under 25 and you loose your DLA you won't be entitled to WTC.Hiya

You need to tell the TCO the day your DLA ends and then call again if/when it's reinstated and (if you're under 25/dont qualify otherwise) make a whole new claim.0

It happened to me, DLA went up for reconsideration and had to inform tax credits. Fortunately mine got reinstated and the new award started the day after the old one ended but it was a nightmare getting it all sorted back out again.
As to just living on wages, could you up your hours at work?0 -
You should phone and tell tax credits that you have stopped receiving DLA. However they will ask you if you still have one of the prescribed disabilities that puts you at a disadvantage of getting a job. If you do you will still be entitled to receive the disability element of wtc (however if you had been receiving the severe disability element of wtc that would be stopped).0

Working Tax Credit if you are disabled
You can get Working Tax Credit if you are disabled provided:- you work at least 16 hours a week and
- your income is low enough and
- you get certain benefits because of your disability and
- your disability puts puts you at a disadvantage in getting a job. HM Revenue and Customs may ask you to give them the name of a healthcare professional who can confirm how your disability affects your chances of finding work. This might be a doctor, occupational therapist or a community nurse.
