Seems to be a glut of £2 coins at the moment as I have had 14 of them this week so £28 gone in the pot :j plus got another one today in some change.

hope I'm not butting in I haven't posted before or joined any of the challenges, but picked upon the saving £2 coins idea from here around 5-6 years ago

anyway, I started putting coins into one of those stainless steel coffee/tea/sugar tins from Poundland, I got a friend to cut a slot in the lid. I was very disciplined & never looked in the tin or borrowed any of it, I made a rule that I'd only open it when I absolutely could not force any more coins in

I thought I'd have maybe £500, but when I finally opened it there was £1,000 + :T which went towards much needed carpets etc for my new home


I've started another now, thank you so much for the idea, I'd never have saved so much any other way
