But I have no idea at what price I should be asking, a mate is interested, but I dont want to ask too much and scare him off.....specs are:
Core 2 Duo 1.86gGhz
160gb HDD
Lightscribe DVD RW
1gb DDR2 RAM
LAN
Abit Mobo
256mb Nvidia GeForce 7500LE
Keeping in mind mates rates etc etc, how much would you charge?

Its only a low spec machine compared to todays standards and if this person is a true friend either give the machine away if your no lounger using it or sell it for a cheep price. At the very least its a few pints down the pub.0 -
Not really, I would expect a PC with a Pentium 4 processor, 512mb RAM, and XP to be given away for free (at a push) !:eek:Its only a low spec machine compared to todays standards and if this person is a true friend either give the machine away if your no lounger using it or sell it for a cheep price. OP, tell him £70 for cash. That is still v. cheap. The quickest way to become a millionaire is start off as a billionaire and go into the airline business.

Why are you selling it - still buying a new Dell? That's a decent PC - plenty of life left in it, £100-150.!!

Here's one on ebay, not the ame spec but similar.
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Dell-Optiplex-745-SFF-Core-2-Duo-PC-2G-Ram-160GB-HDrive_W0QQitemZ110475064716QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Computing_DesktopPCs?hash=item19b8d3b58c
It';s a refurb and they want £175 + £25 P&P.
Personally I'd sell yours to a friend for £100-120 depending on how good a friend they are! It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die0 -
I;'d say around £120-£150 with the upper end being if a monitor is included.0

Thanks for that, I forgot to mention there is also a Samsung SyncMaster 17" monitor included...0 -
Stuff like that is £200 in my local classifieds, but asking/getting are two different things.
If it's Vista, needs more RAM, so £150 tops, remember that when you sell to a mate, there will be the inevitable phone calls, 'can you help?' I've done such and such, so factor in a bit of extra for callouts. IYSWIM.Move along, nothing to see.0
