I'm keeping my fingers crossed and am sending 'no snow at the airport' vibes!!!

I've just heard the most stupid weather report ever on the radio - Today it is very cold. Well, thanks for that insight!!!:rotfl:

I'm off to make a four layer double chocolate cake with chocolate butter icing and decorated with celebrations and chocolate coins - and I'm trying to avoid chocolate! Wish me luck! I'm not mad (well, that's debatable) - it's DS's birthday cake!

Just had a look at european news on the BBC website, looks like other countries aren't coping well either with the record low temperatures and extra snow.

morning all! well, we had a wee splattering over night, i know i shouldnt be but am rather jealous of the rest of the country, I WANT SNOW!! but i also realise it causes people horrendous trouble, especially the elderly and sick.
Bad news re ds's flight tomorrow and that they cant let you know, i'll keep my fingers crossed for you. what airport s he off from?

I'm with you Pania I want snow too we only had one day about 3 inches still the snowman is still intact because it is sooooooooooo cold OH out messing about with salt :rolleyes: because we are having a problem getting my car which is automatic up the drive with the ice and his car needs new front tyres which won't be here until Monday.

Glad you like the induction hob se my new cooker which should have been here this week has one and I can't wait to try it - must give them a ring and see when the estimated delivery date is now

My car is automatic too.
Got up drive yesterday with a push but no one around today to push so no joy.
We have had snow since 17th Dec.
So thouroughly sick of it now.

It may be that their long-term weather forecasts are as bad as ours. "Barbecue Summer" anyone? And did you know this winter will be "Warmer than average"?

Incidently, 2009 was the fifth warmest year on record, and 2010 will be the warmest ever - according to the Met Office at least...
