    we now have hail

Ds managed to get one piece of work from school......so at least he can show that he has made an effort! I'm happy enough with that (he has already brought home some other work too so it's not that he has only got one piece of work to last him!!) He can use the VLE as well while he is there, so lots can be done online.

Also, the tutors out there are very good at making sure they have enough "spare" work for those children who either haven't brought enough with them for one reason or another, or who just whizz through their work quickly, so he will be kept busy.

Surfbabe - what to do with the day.....hmm.......:rotfl:

Mind you, at the moment I am doubtful whether the local airport will be functioning on Saturday - and there is only one flight a week from there to Geneva.......time will tell, and it is just a case of wait and see (and hope insurance covers it!!).

Just checked on BA, heathrow to geneva, £113 single for the first flight in the morning, and also from 5 onwards in the evening, dearer in the middle of the day. Prices do constantly change though.

One trick I've learnt when looking for a flight to a destination, is check the destination airport's website as to which airlines fly in and from where, especially if you're flexible on UK departure airports. Lots of websites want to know precise to/from airports, so you have to do lots of searches.

Norwich Airport is currently closed......so we just have to wait and see what Saturday brings.....but I have phoned the insurance, and we would be covered if the flight is cancelled because of the weather, so that is one thing not to worry about. We will be armed with laptop and emergency credit card for last minute hunting for flights at the ready!!

If you end up using Heathrow, allow extra time for security, it took ages at T5 last Thursday after the latest incident. It was well over half an hour, and it wasn't a busy time with it being new years eve.

I assume other airports will probably be doing the same.

Hope things go smoothly on Saturday.
