baby steps, el.......don't expect too much, start out with just one job, and don't worry if you don't do more than that. I've learned that expecting a huge amount from myself/my day off/whatever just sets me up for a fall. If I do one thing, but actually finish it, then I am MORE likely to do the next thing, and gain the momentum because I am not still faced with all the other unstarted (is that even a word?!) jobs that are left to do on the list.

Don't know if that makes sense......like I say, it is working so far, but I am only a few days in, and only one day back at work......the reality of life may be telling a different tale in a few days

More info for me too please.

Well.... It's not a crash diet, more crash exercise...

Been doing two hours a day since Saturday and it's killing me but me and a work colleague have vowed to lose a stone in 4 weeks, and the natural competitive git in me wants to win! :rotfl:Even though it's more of a co-op to help us initially lose that dreaded first stone...

That and I read about the horrors of visceral fat on BBC New website so I'm off chocolate bizarrely.

I've just switched to fruits which are easier to burn on the cross trainer and swimming pool. But I found out that personal trainer who gave me those good workouts has left now which has left me feeling a bit dejected as he did wonders for my mid-drift, just not my knees! :rotfl:
 Debt Free since July 2011 and it feels good!

Now it's all about finding a deposit for a house!

How do you amass £70k in a year?!

i think it is just the frustration of it all ... i just remembered i had planned on marking down every penny thisyear ...and so far i am out by about £30 booger ...will need to go and start now ...you would think that by this time with my journey through dfw i would have a clue wouldnt you ...and yes some things i am alot better at than before ..in fact all things ...but some are just not where i want them to be just yet

but i am learning still and with everything else going on in my life right now i should be grateful with what i have achieved ...
  • Congrats on the decluttering. I really need to make a start. :(

    Thanks Walshie

I brought some exercise DVD's out with me, so was planning to start them yesterday, but it was one of those days, one step forward, two steps back, so everything took ages and no time left.

    Got to start one today.

Last time I combined watching calories, healthy eating and exercise, it did work wonders, I felt so much healthier and fitter, after the initial creaks and groans.

Morning guys - I will admit that I am concentrating more on the debt and the housework/decluttering before I focus more on diet/exercise.......in the hope that the "feel better" thing that I get from what I am doing, will then have a more "natural" lead into the rest......not sure if that makes sense, but I hope it does!

eg...by having a NSD, I have to take food in from home, so am much more likely to eat healthily because I am not going out and buying chocolate etc.....but the focus behind it was the NSD not the lack of chocolate.....

Anyway, hope you all have a good day - I have put a request in for a withdrawal from a scratchcard £10 so we shall see if that is processed or if they are clamping right down.....fingers crossed.

Wrap up warm, and be careful on the ice!

    Good morning Hypno,

I'm lucky moving into any empty flat with no food stores, means no naughties to be tempted by, OH also knows he needs to lose, so we're helping each other not to get tempted. We've got min 4 months to try to get back into a healthier, fitter lifestyle with not a lot else to do here other than mse, a bit of sightseeing and upping the languages, although OH has to work, poor OH. So if we can't sort ourselves out here & now, when can we!!

Anyway, back to normality and bingo/scratchies :)

Virgin has brought back the 20% Tuesday cashback, the info was in an email yesterday, but it's also on the promotions page on the site. A bit more complicated now, you have to follow the link to the bonus page, and copy in the promo code each Tuesday to get the cashback. The codes on the promo page, so just cut & paste. It makes it so the 5 pounds they want you to play through, can be reduced by 20% if you play on Tuesdays.
