Savingmore, I took the cinefilm to a place that would put it on disc......still exactly the same images, but on a format that takes up a lot less space. It does cost, but it means you don't have to face actually watching them just yet, and can free up some of that space we all crave!
thanks that is an idea, although the bits i want to keep are not alot so not sure it is worth it except for the generations but putting it on disc may be out of date soon too.....will have to think about it, but it is a good idea, thaks:T0 -
Hypno, what is happening with regards to your DS's proposed ski trip? With difficult conditions - I'm thinking the avalanches on ski slopes - is it likely the trip will be called off? I appreciate that skiing is risky, but not sure who decides the level of risk.0

He will still be off on Saturday as expected, but they will ski to the conditions - they are used to working around no snow/poor snow/too much snow, so I am sure they will have things in hand. Avalanches are generally well controlled, with blasts being done to set the avalanche off in controlled conditions where possible, so it would be very unlikely that there was no ability to ski safely. There is, of course, always a risk when you ski, but we all accept that risk.
The next lot of snow has not yet arrived, but the ice is horrific still. We are expecting the snow during the day......joy!
Off to scratch and bank - hope you all have a good day xSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -

Good luck in getting to work today. Atrocious weather here and walking to work could be interesting... but no work = no pay.
The work I have this afternoon (I have two part-time jobs since losing work in October) was due to last until March 2010... no longer sure this is possible - the job could finish by the end of this month at the latest  There's hardly any work available around right now... and that includes jobs on minimum wage
Keep safe on the roads and pavementsBetter leave now to take it slowly and arrive in time!

Ooh, hiphouse, sorry that one of the jobs could be ending soon. I hope you find something else to fit in quickly. Although not quite the same, DD had a phone call yesterday saying that the cafe she works at is suffering because of the snow, and so they cannot afford all their Saturday staff at the moment, so could she take a bit of time off. She knows that when it picks up again they will have her back in, but it is still a shame. In my list of "positives" for 2009, I put that we were grateful that OH and I are still employed.....Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. Good morning all,
Well yesterday was the second in a row of struggling against the tide, so OH & I gave up and relaxed with a nice meal and a bottle of wine (OK a blip in the healthy eating etc, but sometimes it's a need not a want). Watched Amelie again, it was just what was needed too. I'd forgotten how clever it was, going to watch it again this week.
Slept through until 6, without waking up in the unearthly hours
Between OH & me, won £1.50 on virgin scratchies (best one day total there to date).
So ready for a bright new positive constructive day today
Hope everyone's coping OK with the snow and ice.

I'd spotted on mse how more people were having NSD's because they couldn't get out because of the snow and ice, and I'd wondered how small and larger businesses were coping, with the recession lots were struggling already, let's hope it doesn't trigger more job losses.
Hope the cafe's trade recovers quickly.
Hiphouse, hope that your work picks up quickly.0
