  • Hi Hypno I'm really pleased the mortgage is pushing through now. Just a thought but even if you change it to your name would that still give OH legal claim should the 'wind change' IYSWIM while you are still married?

Oh yes, nothing is done and dusted for some time yet - this is just the first stage in a very long set of processes.....

It is, however, one step in the right direction.

Knowing my luck, though, something will crop up, so I won't get too carried away just yet.

Don't think like that. You have already overcome some giant hurdles - never mind BABYsteps - yours are great giant leaps for (wo)mankind! ;)

The fact that you are even still considering the MFiT challenge is to be applauded. Most people in your situation would have thrown the towel in :T

Instead, you have sent your children off to follow their dreams (on trips YOU largely paid for) and not sat there sobbing, feeling sorry for yourself, but worked damned hard to not only keep a roof over your heads - but bloody well decorate that roof too! To cap all that you have remained friends with OH and dignified throughout. :A

I think you've been through the hardest stuff, so be positive - all will be well from hereon in :)

Have a great night tonight - you really do deserve it x

    Great news
I had a seperation agreement drawn up which legally meant my ex then had no legal claim on the house.

Wonderful news on the mortgage being basically sorted - but will you need to get you OH to sigh something to say that he has no further claim on the house?
