I am pleased to report that my mortgage offer has been issued.......at last! Hopefully the associated paperwork can now be dealt with without undue hassle, and that will be one big thing ticked off the list.

yes, it is good news, and my solicitor has called to talk me through the paperwork too, so it doesn't look as though there will be any undue delays. Knowing my luck, though, something will crop up, so I won't get too carried away just yet.

It means, though, that I can start to think about doing a proper budget and also to reconsider my MFiT and debt free targets, so that I still have something to work towards, but without putting unnecessary pressure on myself. It is still a priority to get the debt cleared, because, apart from the mortgage, it is £350 a month minimum that is being spent on clearing debt, and that is quite a substantial sum when compared with the "surplus" that I have for all my day to day living costs, saving for holidays, emergencies, skiing costs etc.

    Baby steps......
