Sorry it's another Gilligansyle question but appropriate to others too - did you ask for you5 contributions shortall etc to see if you're able to get the state pension in your own right, and how many years you need to pay? I'm not an expert, but it is something to check, other mse pages will have lots more info I assume.
Once you're starting to get nearer to pension age, which means a lot of years not just 1 or 10, you need to check things out.
Especially as the goalposts are being moved for women, we used to get the pension at 60, it's being gradually moved to later, so I'm one of the one's losing out a bit in the transition.
Sorry if oldies are taking over Hypno.
Sorry to hijack hypno, its a long time away for most of you.
I am one of those losing out, I retire 3 months after my 65th birthday I am also fortunate enough to have 28 years worth of company pension as well as having paid full stamp for 30+ years so unless they move the goalposts again, I should get a full pension. My pension forecast from company scheme has the state benefits on it too. I will definitely check out the info again. Perhaps it's time to restart your "See how long you can make £20 last" challenge?!
I try that one every week! :rotfl:0 -
Ooh, I had forgotten that challenge, macgirl.
Right, from 1st Feb (Monday) I will take £20 out of the bank and see how long I can make it last for.......it will be for all personal spends.......and I reckon I can make it last a whole lot longer than I did last year!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground.
