Please have a look at this listing:

I already placed a bid yeaterday and JUST realised it is collection only! Under postage they post FREE P and P and that led me to think they would post it. I only just realised the very last sentence at the BOTTOM of the listing: 'Collection only as its heavy'

I def cannot collect as I live miles away. Can seller give me a NP strike? What are my rights?? I send a message to cancel my bid.

You dont need the seller to cancel a bid, you can retract the bid yourself.
If it's heavy, then you were very hopeful that a seller would be posting it for free unfortunately. Look up 'retract bid' on eBay help pages, and it ought to take you to the right form for doing so.

Or rather than risk the non paying bidder strike, pay them the 99p anyway.

You might still be out bid. Fingers crossed.
  • thanks. tried it now and retraction not accepted as bid was placed an hour ago and listing ends in less than 12 hours (in 1 hour to be exact!). i am so angry about this. very misleading!

  • Sellers in the wrong.....email them and explain.....if they go all arsey , pay the 99p(assuming you are the only bidder) then you've done your part.....you could actually put in a dispute for item not received and win it, but i doubt it would come to that.
Never put off until tomorrow what you can avoid doing altogether.:D
  • I might have a bid on it my self. Mwuhahahahahahah
