Website design from easyspace 50% off till tomorrow. Thoughts please.

Options
Hi everyone.

I have domains with easyspace and they have offered to design and build a 5 page website for £650 and a custom built website with 10 or more pages for £800. All 50% reduction as part of Jan sale.

I have no idea on website prices, no IT skills myself and no contacts. I am looking for a site with mainly information with some content which will be pay as you view. Hoping to add shopping cart in the future

What do you think about value for money.

Thanks, Ana

  • Seems like a crazy question now. Just read the posts on another thread. Looks like it's easy enough to build a site myself with Mr Site.
  • do you have hosting with easyspace or just a domain reg?
  • I think thats crazy price, try orbcms they are very good and reasonable. Will charge you around £25 per month for that (or £250 per year) and you will get much more than a limited 5 page site!

gotta say for that sort of money i would expect the shopping cart to be available aswell, for a simple pay per view page system i would not pay more than £200-£400.
Why not loko in your local papers for skilled people offering there services probably be much cheaper or use like someone has said mr site which any chimp could use ( no offence meant by that)

No I am not spamming in any way, a friend of mine has their site with them and they have been really good. But perhaps I should not try and recommend things if thats the kind of reply I will get for being honest.

no need to get your knickers in a twist, this time of year you have a lot of people with not a lot to do and they are happy to shameless promote a business that may be theirs, also you have a very low post count, thats not saying you are a genuine person who knows

That's about right for an agency, a freelancer (works from home alone / small group) would charge about half that (depends on site needs, designer experience etc).

A freelancer would charge between £200 & £500 for a 5 page site. A 10 page site you're looking at £400-£1000. A freelancer can charge less as it's just the 1 person (maybe 1/2 more) with no huge overheads like wages, paye and office space. An agency would build a 5 page site in 7 days depending on the schedule, where as a freelancer could be a could be a few weeks.
