Barclays pre-approved offers

If a "short" one will almost certainly be declined

Ability to have limits - depends on time account held, way account is run, whether your details such as salary etc are correct and CRA details

Always best to check with your local branch and update your details.

If for instance country of birth is missing (it happens!) then you will prob never get pre approved limits

After 16 months the pre-approved offers have now appeared.
£15k loan
£2k OD

"Pre-selected" to apply for Barclaycard, but I already have one (Initial); maybe I should cancel it and apply for a better card.

Something might have changed in terms of their pre-approval system - I have also suddenly got a pre-approved offer after many months of nothing (although in my case just an amusingly low £100 overdraft - nice to know that the pre-approved offers are working though!)

I've banked with Barclays for 13 months now, 2 months back they gave me a £1000 overdraft in the pre-approved offers, which I took, today that's gone up to £3000 and a £15,000 loan. If it helps anyone I have an experian credit score of 931 and around £2,500 going in each month with not much left at the end..

I have no pre-approved offers on online banking. Came back from branch to update details (with documentation to prove it), and asked if there are any pre-approved offers on my profile, and I had a lot of them.

If you guys don't have pre-approved offers on online banking, it's worth going into branch and see if you have any.

What Barclaycard appeared on your pre-approved offers list? Did you get accepted?

I have a joint account with my husband we both have our own log ins I have loads of pre approved stuff and he has none which is mad as it is a joint account and he is the one that earns the money lol

Banks I would to know how they work

Hi,

No Barclaycard was pre-approved (like the loan/od); it said pre-selected.

I already have a Barclaycard but applied for a Platinum and was rejected...

Looks like people have been declined when they apply for Platinum cards (especially the Balance Transfer version) when it's pre-selected. Haven't heard about people declined for other types of Barclaycards.

Did you check your credit file if a footprint ('hard search' - can impact credit rating) is there after it was declined?

I hope that Platinum card will appear in the pre-selected section again in the future, and when applying you will be sucessful next time.

I have been banking with Barclays for 13 months now and i had Pre-Selected offer for Barclaycard credit card and was declined. I have no other loans, no defaults, most payments on my account go via direct debits. Not sure what else they want.
