Mobile broadband - SIM only on Vodafone

My contract with my Vodafone mobile broadband expires soon which leaves me with a redundant mobile dongle on my hands.
I still want to use it but since I've used it only occasionally, it hardly seems worth paying the contract - it's been a real waste of money if I'm honest! I thought I'd use it more than I did.
Vodafone don't seem to sell the SIM only on a PAYG but I noticed some on Ebay - does anyone have any experience of buying one of these and do they work? Seems odd someone on ebay would sell them but not Vodafone itself?

There is a thread somewhere about how long the top up lasts though, whether it expires after 30 days or not if you have not used your allowance. Confirm with voda if you decide to get it.

Wouldn't Vodafone be able to convert your existing SIM to PAYG when your contract expires. It's worth asking them if you haven't already.

I have the dongle so I don't want to pay £35 for another one! They don't do a PAYG Sim.

Probably selling unwanted ex business sims on ebay. £3.91 is cheapest one on ebay.

But I just saw a deal for a dongle on vodafone (which persumably comes with a sim), £15 with 30 days usage included. No contract it says (30 contract probably with no tie in as long as you give 30 days notice).

I didn't mean buy another one. Ask them to convert your existing SIM to PAYG when the contract is up and then continue to use it in your existing dongle.
