OP - I would ask the hotel to justify the charge and to prove that it was as a result of your daughter and her mates.

Im not sure they should have in any case? If I stayed in a hotel and there was a stain on the carpet I dont think I would probably tell them unless they asked me to carry out an inspection and let them know outcome.:smileyhea0
