Am hating the lo-carb idea - don't think it's for me :o Last night I was craving bread - something I have never done before (it's usually chocolate :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:)

Have been having a bit of a think and I've decided on a 'slow start, baby steps' plan until the end of the year. The idea is to try to get into a couple of new, healthier habits now and then add a couple more in the new year and so on :D

So, from now until the end of the year I will
    • not eat between meals
    • drink 1 litre of water a day
    • do a Body Pump class every week
Sometimes it's hard to walk in a single woman's shoes - that's why we need really special ones!

    Hello,

good plan to start slowly & get those small changes ingrained into your lifestyle.

I've tried low carbs a couple of times & also struggle as I dont eat a lot of meat or fatty food anyway. I also dont believe that it is healthy in the long term & dont want some faddy regime that I have to be anal about for the rest of my life & bore the pants off everyone.

I've increased my water consumption / cut down on caffeine, now eat 3 portions of fresh fruit a day & dont gorge on junk.

The main things is making sure we do exercise regularly & that's about health as much as trying to lose weight.

    Health is the priority here.

I hope you do manage to smile & celebrate your friends life tomorrow, I'm thinking that no one would want theirlife to be remembered in a mournful way, however sad their passing on from our own lives is. Just do your best hon & remember we're here for you

    Lots of hugs

    xx

Thanks ladies :A Was very sad but, in that old cliche, it was what he would have wanted. Glad I went, hard to do but it wasn't about me, it was about him

In other news - have lost 2lbs this week :) Have been quite up and down - strict no carb days and then binges so quite pleased to have lost anything :o Going to stick with the 'baby steps' plan up until Christmas and hope to lose a pound a week. A 5lb loss by Christmas would be a bit of a boost and hopefully make me feel more confident in my clothes.

Am also going to try and look after my skin and pamper myself a bit, not feeling very 'goddess' like at the moment - I'm not a 'winter' person!!! :p

Money is a nightmare at the moment - have really let things slide in the last couple of months :o It's still 10 days until payday and I can only just about manage food and petrol :o I know it's not the 'big' stuff that's the problem - all my bills are paid on time and at sensible costs, it's my day-to-day spending that runs away with me. I really need to get on top of that - proper shopping, less 'treats' and stuff like that!

Off the meet a friend for lunch today and the gym tomorrow. Around that I need to get some housework and washing done - and start making lists/a plan for Christmas :D

Had a lovely afternoon with my friend, and we mooched around the shops without me buying anything :D

Planning a holiday for next year too - something to look forward to. Am feeling a bit low after the funeral but trying to see it as a message to live life to the full and not waste time worrying about money and weight amongst other things :o
