On my Christmas shopping mission! So far all from the sofa - 3 items ordered from Amazon (Nectar points vouchers) and an item reserved at Argos (more Nectar)
4 presents bought, no money spent - and all from the warmth of my sofa :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: That's what I call a resultSometimes it's hard to walk in a single woman's shoes - that's why we need really special ones!Total debt @ Oct 2008: £29,226.42 Credit Card- £[STRIKE]7493.56[/STRIKE] - £7243.56Weightloss : 0/34lbs0 -
 AA took CC payment for membership even though I wrote to cancel more than a week in advance!
Customer service were excellent though :j agreed to full refund without loads of hassle. Well done AA! All present shopping done - and in budget :j plus 2 little treats for me, a book and a pen
Need to get cards, wrapping paper and some decs but well on course. Have the girls coming to dinner on Friday so need to decide what to do. Am going to go to Sainsburys one day this week (there;s one near work but not near home!) and stock up with booze, using my Nectar points.
Really like the idea of a 'money neutral' Christmas next year, points, vouchers, Quidco etc - wonder if it can be done???Sometimes it's hard to walk in a single woman's shoes - that's why we need really special ones!Total debt @ Oct 2008: £29,226.42 Credit Card- £[STRIKE]7493.56[/STRIKE] - £7243.56Weightloss : 0/34lbs0 -
Great idea of a money neutral christmas, I am a bit naughty though & tend to use my survey rewards for me
although I have used a lot of amazon vouchers too.
I'll settle for just saving up for it, although I am actually using real money this year & not the CC so I suppose that's an improvement.
How about a challenge to save every single survey reward for christmas ?0 -
I've been treating myself with Quidco money too but when I was online shopping with Amazon vouchers and 'real' shopping in Argos with Nectar points it made me realise what could be done
Apart from the above I am shopping with cash too - and that's a first for meSometimes it's hard to walk in a single woman's shoes - that's why we need really special ones!Total debt @ Oct 2008: £29,226.42 Credit Card- £[STRIKE]7493.56[/STRIKE] - £7243.56Weightloss : 0/34lbs0 -
I'm all done too ladies, just need wrapping paper/gift bags! All paid with cash that I actually had. What a feeling. Shoesy I think there's a whole forum thingie on money neutral Xmas on here which you could maybe join. I had planned to use my surveys for Xmas but have spent the money in the year instead!'The road to a friends house is never long'0

Off into the city today - last of the shopping I hope
Have been trying clothes on this morning, I think I can 'recycle' from my wardrobe for my work do - just need some sort of shrug/cardi type thing for which I have some birthday vouchers left
Going to treat myself to some 'quality' make up too
Need to drop off some trousers to be altered, do a food shop, and still need to do washing and clean/tidy up
And I intended to exercise today and have a bit of a pamper
 That sounds like loads, will be back later with progressSometimes it's hard to walk in a single woman's shoes - that's why we need really special ones!Total debt @ Oct 2008: £29,226.42 Credit Card- £[STRIKE]7493.56[/STRIKE] - £7243.56Weightloss : 0/34lbs0 -

A money neutral christmas sounds like a great idea. I doubt I'd be able to manage it but as I shall be getting right back into moneysaving in Jan I'd like to save up all my free money/vouchers to at least go towards christmas. This year I actually managed to save up £10 every single week without fail towards xmas... I thought that would be plenty but as per usual it's not. I have got loads to buy, no money and very little time (I say as I'm sat here in my pj's wasting my day, letting the ice put me off doing anything outdoors).
Sounds like you have a good day planned Shoe Gal. Did you get yourself a cardi/shrug? I need some decent make up too but I hardly wear it so just nick my sisters the odd time I want it, she did ask me the other day to buy my own lol I can only dream of days that I have money for makeup and the like.
If you find some motivation Lula, please feel free to send some my way, thankyouInitial Debt July 2020 - £6,772.80

while Shoesy is still out shopping we'll just chat amongst ourselves eh
£10 a week is what I had in mind for saving towards christmas, not sure what happened though ... ebay probably
I have £30 already saved in £2 coins & have just requested permission to climb aboard the sealed pot challenge 4 for christmas next year.
I'll be using the £2 coins to start it off & then adding any more that come my way as well as any more spare cash too.
Well, that's the plan anyway ...0
