It turns out my brother has been signed up to some kind of SMS subscription service that has been costing him over £10 a month. He has been receiving texts once a week that cost over £2.50 each to receive. We called Vodafone to ask what was going on and they were actually very helpful. They told us the company sending the texts is Ericsson IPX. We have sent a STOP message to the number given by Vodafone, so hopefully the texts will stop, but we have no idea how this began.

My brother has a crap phone that can't even have logos, wallpapers, ringtones, etc - and he would never have knowingly signed up to anything like this. He doesn't get bills by post, he has to check them online (which he never does - stupid I know), so we only found out about it now. The vodafone itemised bills only go back as far as July 09, and we can see it has been going on since at least then.

Anyone had similar experiences? Anyway to find out how this all began and maybe get some of the money back?
