Avoid this Gold Buyer

Do not send your gold items to this man, he has not paid me yet he has not returned my gold ring. Its not that I am attached to the ring, after all, I was selling it, but nevertheless, it is mine, & basically, he has stolen it. I phoned him & got no answer, but he rang me back later thinking I was ringing for an estimate. He said he would send my cheque, but he hasn't.

  • Why choose an something unheard of like 'Mr Big' when there's all those larger more well known gold companies advertising on TV?

Why would you send anything of value to a complete stranger? Would you put £100 in an envelope and give it the first person you meet on the street and trust them to give you it back 3 days later?
  • To be fair, a quick Google showed Mr Gold is https://www.bestpriceforgold.co.uk who claim to be the biggest scrap gold buyer on their site. Whether I believe that or not though, I'm not so sure.

thanks Omen, but how do I go about this?. I have actually got his address, or at least the adress I sent the ring to. I am contacting trading standards after the holiday. I have the certigicate from sending it special delivery. I do have more gold to sell, but thought I would test it out by sending this ring first. Its not particularly valuable or sentimental, so thats why I used it. I wont be sending any more.

Weren't all these postal gold firms on TV recently, where it was shown that they offer a really lousy deal for your gold, and if you want a decent price, you should take it to your high street jeweller to see what they can offer?
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

I have emailed Nominet... his address should appear in the Whois record shortly, or his website will go offline I would imagine.

Are you sure you're talking about the same person?
Did you google 'Mr Gold' or 'Mr Big' who the OP referred to?
