Well in response to my last reply here (I feel like I'm talking to myself! Please tell me to shut up if I'm being annoying!)

Got a new delivery of boots today- the courier service took back the two pairs I recieved by mistake. Buit I opened the packet to find....long boots and not short boots! Everything else: the colour, the price, the style, was all correct.

I emailed the company, spoke to the customer service rep who apologised, took the responsibility (he had put through the wrong order) said the correct order was on its way and to keep the long boots as a gift!

OMG- am looking forward to my new boots but this is seriously cheered up my day big time! (am ill at the moment and coughing, sneezing and spluttering all over the shop) will post when I get the new boots but looks as if their mistakes have gooten me a free pair of long boots!

Definetly a company I'd recommend- I'd have thought they'd fixed any errors after this and 10/10 for customer service. Seems to have a better service then Daniels by far!

You didn't by any chance receive Nomad Party boots in a size 7 did you? I have been waiting and waiting for mine. I have now been told that they sent them to someone else by mistake and they now have none left.

You are obviously having better luck than me with your e-mails, I am having a lot of trouble getting them to reply and deal with it. (They still have my money too!)

    Oooooh, you lucky, lucky thing!!!:j

    Now that's what I call customer service!:T

If you really don't want the long boots, I suppose I could find a home for them....I mean, you don't want nasty long boots cluttering up the place, do you?!:D

No, Nomads size 6. The guy I was emailing said he put in the order for the tall ones as I paid by paypal it confused him and although I paid for the shorter ones, he actually ordered the longer ones! Just hope I actually get the shorter ones! They were the ones I really wanted!

I emailed first by the site and then replied to the emails that went to my inbox- is that how your trying to contact them? Seemed to work for me, not sure why it wouldn't be working for anyone else too- it does vary on reply time, yesterday it was a few hours, the day before I waited much longer so guess it depends.

Think the sizing isn't far off the Ugg sizing though- I have Uggs size W7 (UK5) and already I have just gone out and bought some insoles as they have "given"! They are not as plush/dense as the Ugg Australia though so could be why.
  • what's the best spray to use to protect uggs? also- asked before but think it may have been missed- how much do lfa boots tend to give and how long does it take?

They give you a free protection spray if you order from the bargain basement section.

Most people found it takes about 48 hours or 2-3 days for arrival, the company use UPS which does not deliver on a saturday. Others though are still waiting so am not sure exactly what happens! Could be they are awaiting new stock? or that bargain basement orders get priority? (some very old styles in there they maybe want to get rid of)

They do give quite early on- but this could be as they are not water protected (hence them giving away the free spray) its nothing visable -the giving, but it does now mean that the boots that fitted perfectly now need insoles as my feet slide around a little (you need to bear in mind for the last 5 years I've been wearing Uggs in a W7/UK5 and my normal shoe size is a UK7, I'm used to them feeling snug and prefer them this way!) unfortunetly as LFA's come up more true to size (they have a size chart on the website) it means an LFA size 5 would have been way too small for me. (LFA size UK5 is not the same as Ugg size UK5/W7)

I'd say they are not as puffy as Uggs- they look puffy from the outside- exactly like Uggs, but its not the same sort of sheep I think! They are still comfy and should last a while I'd think, the construction looks well made, I think the only downside I have over them is the actual skins they have used but this could be as I have factory seconds from the bargain basement, the others could be a different story- I've not seen these in a UK store for many years to compare.
  • thanks jenniewb. i was wondering whether to get my boots a size up or stay with what i've got. i tried the size up in daniel footwear but it seemed a tad roomy and the woman told me then that they would give. I guess with boots like these it's better to get them a bit on the snug side than too big. It's not like they are going to "pinch" and give blisters or anything.

Weird. The sheepskin on mine doesn't seem that dense either, but I read on Shudoo's info page (and elsewhere) that LFA's sheepskin fur is the thickest and most dense of all the branded sheepskin boots, hence they are a bit more snug at first but will still give.

Maybe the bargain basement LFA's didn't meet the required thickness as well as there being colour issues

Sizewise i'd say they are a bit more snug than other brands i've tried (I find the same can be said of UA boots too though) but I still sized down from my usual size 7 (I think i'm actually more of a 6.5 but wide feet) so the 6 are just right for me, because they have a bit of give width ways.

I know- I'm seeing variations in the sheepskin on each boot too- am sure they are genuine but defo seconds as (just because I studied something similar to this at Uni) the variations are too much to be sold instore I think. I have one which is butter soft, the other which is quite dense and sturdy. When done up properly you'd never know from looking (or even wearing) its only if I half-do them up and have one part of the boot flopping over am sure it will be fine as I generally would wear these not looking the same on each foot anyway (just for style).

The soles are not as flexable as they could be, but still are very durable. They may give with time or it could be as they have likely been in storeage for a few years (the same thing happens if you store trainers in warehouse/low humidity conditions) its nothing terrible, (unless you chose to do your sports and fitness in your boots!!) but just something I noticed. Nothing to be overly worried about and infact I'd say 100% they are real sheepskin, they are good quality skins, will last a long time and aside from very mild shedding where I have the lace ties pulling through holes, I've had no real shedding at all. (Bad sheepskin will shed as the sheeps are malnourised and skins badly treated once prepared for one of many reasons for shedding)

You seem to have the exact same shoe size as me! (I'm a size 7 in most shoes as my feet are too wide for a size 6 yet trainers which are wider I can get away with size 6.5) Ugg Austrailia come up large and also give. So maybe more snug then normal shoes but definetly not as snug as UA.
