30 days' notice to cancel Vodafone contract
Despite being with Vodafone for the last few years, I'm still expected to give them 30 days written notice to cancel my contract. Ironically, I intend to continue with Vodafone, albeit with a new number, through the Carphone Warehouse offer: Free 6284, 1/2 price line rental for 18 months 'Anytime 350' contract. I don't believe I can transfer my number with this offer.
What do I do when such offers are normally limited to a short period only? I guess this deal will only be on offer until the end of June and by the time I get my present deal cancelled, it will be late July. I don't fancy having two contracts running at the same time, even though there would only be a month overlap.

hi amhurst
you should call voda and tell them that you want to cancel - they will then probably transfer your call to their customer retentions department
when you get through to the customer retentions they will ask you why you want to leave (its part of their script) you tell them about the offer and they might offer to match it. if they match the offer you will be able to keep the same number and will be billed direct from voda etc.
give it a try, be pleasant on the phone but be not willing to accept anything less than the equivalent to the offer you have seen.
remember, if CPW can afford to make a profit with their offer then so can voda.0 -
You don't know that CPW make a profit on the offer if the customer manages to claim all the cashback.
In fact, I am fairly certain that CPW doesn't make a profit on customers ruthlessly executing cashback deals - as otherwise, why would CPW limit such deals to 2 or 3 per person or whatever their limit is?
Any company making a good profit won't place limits on purchases in such a way.0 -
If you do want to keep your number get as payg sim (not voda), port your number on to it and then port it back onto your new cpw contractI think....0
