You may find one either end but if you mangaged to push the hose onto the spigot of the waste connection then it won't be the top end.

The end thats attatched to the wastedrain just pushes on to the waste so i dont think theres anything to block it that end or it wouldnt push on (or would it?)

Yes because if you unscrew the spigot from the waste you'll find the plug at the opposite (wide) end if there is one present. Did you just push the hose onto the spigot and leave it like that? Its a small wonder you haven't had a flood of its not secured to the spigot with a jubilee clip. On the other hand that might just point to the machine end as well.

Did you follow the installation instructions?

Yes, followed the instructions to the letter, dose'nt mention in the instructions that it might be blanked off.
Im going to have to have another good look tomorrow. Undo it all and start again, and get one of those jubilee clips you mentioned, OMG perhaps its a good thing it didnt spin then if it might have shot off and flooded the place.
