What happens when a number is ported over to another network?
Hi all.
Sorry if this is a stupid question. I'm due to port my number from T Mobile to Orange but I'm wondering whether my calls and texts will still get through during the porting process (I've been told it takes 2 days, does this mean that I can still use my old phone and SIM for calls and texts until the actual changeover?)
Thanks for your help.

Yes you can use it as normal, you'll find that on the day it's due to change over you may have a couple of hours where your phones get a little confused and they may both be show under the same number when you make calls.I may be shy, but that doesn't make me an angel

When i moved my number from t-mobile to orange the other month it was quite weird and they suffered a bit of an identity crisis they were both running on the same number but the t-mobile phone could make calls from that number and receive texts to that number and the orange phone would send texts from that number and receive calls to it. That lasted a couple of hours and then the t-mobile one went off alltogether and it all went through the orange one, just a pain as you have to carry both phones for a few hours. When they say it takes 2 days they mean that after 2 days it will transfer not that it will take 2 days to do it.0
