Help, who makes the decisions?

Hi all,
Can anyone give advice on who makes the decisions about what happens when you decide to sell a house in Scotland?
My mum died at the end of last year, and her house was left to three of us. After some discussion we decided to sell the house and approached the solicitor who had acted as executor to see if he could sell the property for us.
We had a meeting with him where the three of us were asked to sign a letter that we agreed for his firm to sell the property, there was also a section in the letter that the executors had to sign confirming the instuctions to sell.
Problems then seemed to arise, one of us three was also an executor!
We had been told that we would be see the schedule before the property went on the internet, never happened for at least two of us!
We were told that we would be informed of interest, never happened for at least two of us!
We had been told that when there was enough interest we would be contacted to discuss a closing date, I found about the closing date on the TSPC website and two days later received a letter telling me about the wonderful response and that a closing date had been put on the house!
When I phoned the solicitor in Carnoustie on monday to complain I was informed that the executors had made the decision,tough,accept it.
The solicitor informed me that he would need to see us all and when I asked when, he said that shortly after the 12 noon closing time on Thursday 22nd June would be best, I left it with him after saying I would be available anytime that was suitable for the other two. I was then phoned the next day to confirm the time of the meeting and was given the impression that all three of us would be there. Lo and behold I find late on Wednesday that my brother can't be there, having arranged a days holiday I went along to the meeting at 12-30pm and tried to register my complaint about the way that things had been handled and was was told that the executors had made the decisions regarding the closing date, accept it and that they would be deciding on which offer was acceptable. It was about then the dummy was well and truely spat and I walked out.
It would appear that the agenda had already been decided before the meeting between the two executors and they were looking for a rubber stamp on their decision.
I wonder if there could be a conflict of interest here as well, one of the executors had previously prior to the property going on the market declared an interest in purchasing the house and had never retracted that interest, although I'm lead to believe that the one of us who is an executor is/or had r purchasing/purchased a property through the same solicitor.

i am sorry this feels like you have been excluded here - but the role of an executor is to sort out the affairs of the deceased. Your mum appointed that person presumably because she trusted that person. If the solicitor had had to write to all three of you every time anything needed doing it would have gone on for ever and ever and any monies in the estate might have been eaten up with lawyers fees.
if the house has been sold for a fair market price, i am not certain what your complaint is. Dealing with your mum's affairs is a very sad time, i hope this sale will help you get closure on it.
