Hi, Do I need a specific adapter to link my son to his xbox live? Price at game is £50, but there are two models. I asked his cousing who told me that the one he bought last June didn't work for him or another neighbour. Don't want to waste thsi money as the subscription is about another £39 a year. Any sugestions on wireless or live prices please?
2p or not 2p? That is the question!

Well the official wireless adapter is a safe bet. Amazon have it for £47, might be cheaper elsewhere. There is also a newer model costing about £10 more which does wireless N but unless you have a router that does N or you want to future proof it isn't a necessity.
EDIT:
if this is the one you mean then it should work perfectly fine, and is also the newer model. Much better price than Amazon for it!0 -
I bought the wireless n adaptor yesterday, can't get it to work though. I have a Belkin router (g) and have no problems connecting my laptop / itouch / Wii / Blackberry.
I've followed the instructions to the letter, but no joy. The adaptor just doesn't see to see any network (not even the neighbours, of which there are 4 visible to my other devices). The online forums suggest that MS support have suggested returning them for exchange. The on-line help, hasn't.
Anyone had any experience here?:mad:Keep smiling,

Wireless can be temperamental. Why not do Powerline (ethernet over the mains)?
You can pick up a pair of 85Mbps Homeplug Turbo boxes for less than £50.0 -
Older white G adapter can be had from Tesco for £39. Out of stock at the moment though.
It is on the shelves in bigger Extra stores.Dave. :wave:0 -

I got the kids to buy me one for Christmas this year, so I could connect the one I won from the Doritos Guitar Hero competition. They bought me the (old style) grey one from Amazon for about £45. I attached it to the Xbox today, turned the Xbox on, and got a message saying "Wireless adapter detected, do you want to connect to a network?" It found my network, I put my WPA key in, and that was it. Simples!0

Well I'm no wiser. Tried that adapter again and it is just staying red! Got my son to put it in the other 2 slots, still no success. Its not finding any wireless connection! AHHHH!2p or not 2p? That is the question!0
