Vodafone - Calling abroad
                    Hi,
I recently moved to Vodafone on advice of a store advisor. My girlfriend calls home to Cuba each month and currently uses Lebara Mobile (runs on Vodafone) at 50p min. He guaranteed it could be less with Vodafone. After getting my sim I tried calling which worked fine, (this was some super high rate 140p a min). Then I was advised about "Vodafone International" which clearly states you can call for 30p a min. Bargain I thought. After adding the pack I can no longer call it just cuts out and says disconnected. I have also tried this with ASDA mobile (Vodafone) which does the same. It was to do with "technical difficulties" that it cut out according to customer services, It's being investigaed. (By the way Lebara still works).
I find it very dis-honest of Vodafone that it worked fine and after adding a "Value" pack it suddenly stops when it's out of Vodafones favour. Is this legal? Shall I complain to Ofcom? This has been going on since June 2009 when I was told it would be fixed ASAP.
Any ideas anyone?

Sorry to post again but I have also posted on the vodafone help forum, (22nd June 2009) http://forum.vodafone.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=28472&hl=cuba
The reps there gave no real answer, as I understand there is a Vodafone rep here could you please clarify why this happens that when im charged 140p/min it works but when I change to 30p/min it doesn't. Surely both calls go via Vodafone so whats the problem? Also when it will be fixed?Debts going!Car £[strike]7000[/strike] Now £0CC £[STRIKE]2100[/STRIKE] Now £00

            Hi,

Sorry to hear that.... After getting my sim I tried calling which worked fine, (this was some super high rate 140p a min). Then I was advised about "Vodafone International" ... Bargain ... After adding the pack I can no longer call it just cuts out and says disconnected. ...
Clearly they must be routing the "bargain" calls through VOIP or some other cheap method. And the expensive calls going through a better route. Would not put it past them.I find it very dis-honest of Vodafone that it worked fine and after adding a "Value" pack
 No surprise there.
Take legal advice. You may have a case against Vodafone.
Would recommend you look at o2's pay as you go "your country" sim card and see if that is better.0
