Protein takes longer to digest so will help you feel full for longer.
If youre eating carbs go for unrefined ones - brown bread, rice, pasta etc instead of white.
Sometimes people feel hungry when they're actually thirsty, so have a drink, wait a bit and see if you're still hungry.
Crisps, bicuits and cake are fairly pointless foods really - they are stuffed with fat and calories but don't give you any lasting fullness at all....some things I snack on (Im a terrible snacker!) are raisins, nuts, bananas and flapjack.August grocery challenge: £50

I was never one for breakfast but would be staving by 9.30 so I started having a cooked breakfast, not a great big affair. Just that I thought that the smell would make me hungy, and it worked so now I have two of the following, fried egg, rasher of bacon, slotted spoon full of beans or chopped toms. Its not alot at all but it keeps me full and is nice on cold mornings.0

I can highly recommend my home made cereal! It's a base of jumbo oats (about half of the whole amount) I then add spelt flakes, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, sesame seeds, linseeds and hemp seeds. It should end up looking like a healthy muesli.
Not only is this very low GL, it keeps me full for ages and, as it takes a bit of chewing, I think my body better recognises that it's had something to eat!
Second suggestion is to drink a glass of water or herbal tea. Sometimes, when we think we're hungry, we're actually thirsty and some rehydration solves the problem.
Good luck!0 -
go on Lily-Lu post a link - might do me more good than the usual spam I consume
Natalie has many videos on there, which cover a whole host of nutritional components......But there's also other nutritionists/natural health contributers on the same channel and so many things are covered. Things like mental health relating to nutrition. MSG, and sugar substitute/diet foods and drinks and the negative effect they can have. Really too many subjects to mention, but a lot of them make interesting listening.
In order to find videos from the other natural health contributors, click on the 'uploads' tab near the top of the page, and all the channel's videos will be in the scroll menu on the right hand side.
One of the other contributers is a clinical nutritionist called Radhia Gleis. She does some really good videos, and spends time explaining a lot of the body's processes. Her videos (for me) are definitely the most interesting0 -

Maybe you need to stop trying to feel full.
My mum swears by the rumbly-stomach empty feeling for loosing weight, and only eating two actual meals a day, with drinks/fruit/veg the rest of the day.

If you're going to have something sweet on your porridge then honey is better than syrup or refined white sugar as its a natural sugar and doesn't give you the same sugar rush. I sometimes have reduced sugar jam in mine to sweeten it up a bit.
Deffo agree with eggs for brekkie and I always have soup of some kind as an extra at lunch so even if I have a salad or sandwich I also have a low cal soup....either homemade veg soup or sometimes a cup a soup. Something else I've found that really helps is having sugar free jelly for pudding....its about 3 cals per portion but really seems to fill me up!0 -
hiya

Jam is full of sugar, you can get lower sugar or fructose based jams though, Lidl used to do a nice one.The truth may be out there, but the lies are inside your head. Terry Pratchett
