Heheheh :) The cats wouldn't be any bother, they could try them out!
I don't smoke so would probably pick up on the smell of it so don't know what to say about that bit!

If you just give any charity knitting, whether for animals, babies or whatever, a quick wash before donating it I`m sure it will be fine. I don`t have cats but I do have two dogs. Don`t have too many problems.

Thanks for that - OH keeps promising he's going to give up smoking and as he's very charity minded this might be another wee encouragement (or nag as he puts it). Any spare wool I have will now be put to good use. :j

I think the innocent smoothie people do something with this. My grannie knits squares down at the day centre and they get paid per square or something. Does this ring any bells for anyone?

  • hi, my youngest son was born 10 weeks early and the neonatel unit at our hospital were always happy with donations of any kind. the premature babys don't have the ability to hold their own body heat so they remedy this by layering lots of small knitted blankets. they are also allways desperate for prem sized hats etc. i've found that there are lots of free patterns on the internet for prem baby clothes and hats. most are very simple patterns. good luck in your quest to warm!!!!!

Hi Michelle, thanks for your input.

Lots of us on the thread knit and crochet prem blankets and other items for neonatal wards and also for the `little angels` who sadly don`t make it into this world. My own granddaughter was a month prem and I saw firsthand how vital these things can be.

Hi, I volunteer for a pro-life charity which helps those who are having crisis pregnancies and can't afford baby clothes and equipment. New mums often ask for baby blankets, blankets for prams and knitted items such as cardigans, hats etc - they do get used and are much appreciated! If it is a charity you would like to support it is worth finding out where your local 'LIFE" group is - https://www.lifecharity.org.uk/lifeinyourarea.
