Thank you to everyone for the lovely messages today :A.
My 'Auntie' called my mum from Scotland yesterday (I say 'Auntie' because I haven't seen her for over 20 years, she only got in touch when my dad died). She has discovered that my grandad (who has also died) wasn't really my dad's father and my real grandad was American. So I have just found out that I am basically 1/4 American. Feel all exotic now :rotfl:. I might have some rich American family somewhere. Shame nobody knows his name .
It was another boring day at work, only one more left before I get a 3 day break :j. At my mum's at the moment (for dinner) and then off to the cold house to do some more packing. I will get my list done ASAP so I can relax and watch one of my Christmas DVDs (thinking Wolverine....mmm Hugh Jackman
).
Will update later when finished with my daily tasks.

Oooo American ey, i've always dreamed of having a long lost American family, like the movies hehe. Shame you don't know his name.
I think everybody should get the days off between Christmas and New Year, silly going in for a couple of days, unless you work in a shop or the public sector.
Good luck with your list, hope you get it all done soon so you can chillax and watch films.

:rotfl:I think in my mind, I am related to some famous actor or actress. I can but dream.
Unfortunately I work in the public sector - Probation. Crime doesn't stop for Christmas! (as my boss said to me one year!).
Must crack on with my list..........

Hehe, my OH is in the police so i know what your talking about, people won't stop committing crime just cos its christmas. He was back to work today, luckily he's CID so doesn't have to work all over Christmas, managed to take off most of Christmas but had to go back in today, and was meant to be in tomorrow but has managed to book that off.
I'll let you get on with your list Emily........:D

Hi everyone
Thought I would do a last post of 2009.
It was another long, boring day at work. So pleased to have 3 days off now. Staying in tonight with my mum. I hate the thought of her being on her own at New Years and my auntie is away so there is nobody else around. I always hate going out on NYE anyway as everywhere charges to get it, it's always packed and it costs a fortune in drinks.
I was reading through my very first diary earlier on (at work) and it dawned on me that this has just been a very bad decade. I really think that things are going to change for me from tomorrow. I have my new flat to look forward to and am determined to get debt free by the end of the Olympic challenge.
Happy New Year to all on MSE :T
