New dishwasher choice

  • Bought an Indesit to replace the Smeg dishwasher which had needed 2 new processors as it could not cope with steam so you had to open the door fully and leave it for 5 mins before you emptied it. The Indesit was really awkward to load as I couldn`t fit my pasta dishes or wine glasses in it & it & it didn`t wash very well either. Luckily we have a rental property which needed a new dishwasher so the Indesit was transferred there & we bought a Neff which was not too expensive(Always use Quidco/topcashback etc & a cash back credit card. Takes my pasta dishes, wineglasses & washes really well.

A good place for an appliance search is boots kitchen appliances. Found a Smeg dishwasher for my Mum at £304 which came with a 5 year warranty.
    I love surprises!

Anyone out there got a Smeg dishwasher? Have seen one (model no. DF612WE) for £254 including 5 years warranty and thought this was a very good price. However after reading loads of reviews it seems it doesn't take tablets in the door compartment, instead it uses powder. Apparently tablets can be put inside the cutlery basket though. My question is, does this make any really difference to the cleaning performance?

    Cheers

I read lots of reviews and had originally ordered a Beko which was delivered on Monday but I couldn't get it to work. Had an engineer out on Wednesday and he declared it dead! Contacted supplier and they can't deliver a replacement Beko until at least 23rd Jan. They suggested either I could wait (don't want to, fed up washing dishes!!) or I could choose another dishwasher which could be delivered sooner. The Smeg stood out because it had the 5 year warranty and was no more expensive than some others which only offered a 1 year warranty. Still unsure whether I should wait or not. Anyone want to make my mind up for me? :)

    Hi

As previously said. If you can afford it buy a Miele. If you can't Siemens or Bosch. If none of these then forget it, do the washing up yourself! :D

I've just bought a Bosch after doing similar research. The best price I found was here if it's of any interest. http://www.electricshop.com/Integrated-Dishwashers/Bosch-SGV53E33GB-60cm-Fully-Integrated-Dishwasher-with-12-Place-Settings/invt/sgv53e33gb

Mines is being delivered on Wednesday, communication good so far but I can't obviously give a definitive recommendation as yet.

Thanx all :D Problem I have tho' is that I have already paid for the Beko. Considering the machine has never worked do you think I should just ask for my money back and go elsewhere for a Bosch or Siemens? Also, would the seller be obliged to give me my money back?
