As I say I only operate in small, but I cannot see it as that much effort... few phone calls and set up few DDs and few reminders for when the offer period ends...

I've got Halifax card at moment with about £7000 and building stoozing until June and am considering getting another card to stooze in a few months. I also have the Amazon card but only use that for Amazon purchases, so not much on that. I used to have £15k before the BT came in with Egg. I still think it's probably worth while and it helps that my OH doesn't pay tax :D

I was up to about £15k when the BT fees came in across the board. Now, I just can't see that it's worth the effort. I'd rather spend on my Amazon card and get a nice gift token occasionally.

£1450 last year for very little effort. Even if I'd spent 2 hours a month on stoozing activity last year (which is a long time to stare at a card statement :)) that'd be 24 hours a year, so would work out at £60 per hour.

Stoozing doesn't take up time. I spend more time for less return posting on forums :p

I read your post above. You're not just spending time chasing lots of credit cards and filling in the bloody applications, you're also doing the same thing with lots of savings accounts. Fine if that floats your boat, but to me it spells torture.

  • I've been stoozing for a few years now and I don't find it a major effort at all. I've streamlined all the processes when applying for cards and accounts and once they are setup the admin is not much more that maintaining a standard set of personal accounts and cards.

CannyJock nailed it for me with
... if you can turn a profit from stoozing in the current climate then you'll be well placed to increase that profit when things improve...

I think it also generates a good mindset for other money saving activities and purchasing other financial products.

Just when I thought there would be no more opportunities for a BT, along comes Santander with their Zero card. As an existing customer (Alliance & Leicester) I can have a fee free balance transfer with 0% for 12 months :D. Guess where my Halifax balance is going :rotfl:.

  • I don't know about stoozing but what I do know is that the best and easiest way to get cash for free is wining it from some of those free giveaways sites like ezwingame.com!

they are legal and they actually work!

The best and easiest way to get cash is to earn it through a job. Stoozing does add another £150 per month but not enough to retire on :)

AM I right in thinking that the 12 month 0% offer has gone? All I can see on their website is 3 months.

It still says 12 months for me - which website are you using?

On santander.co.uk in the cards section, it has the zero with a 12 month balance transfer with fee, then a box underneath it says "customer offer" and says you get the same as above but with no fee. I'm sure a link from my Alliance and Leicester internet banking said the same as well.
