Count me in please... I've overspent by far too much in 2009, and with reduced work hours and this and that I need a major cut back in 2010. My challenge for Jan 1st-31st is £350. Many thanks.2014 GC: £957.61/ £54000

Welcome to all the Newbies and welcome back to those returning.;)
CRANKY40 - so sorry to read of your loss.
I've updated my spends in Lidl today, only needed a few things as we are still pretty well stocked, will be making a new Freezer/Cupboard Inventory as it would be good if we could come under this Month and is also a good way of using up obscure items lurking at the back of the Cupboards. I'm also determined to use everything up and keep waste to minimum, usually do anyway but more determined now - last night we made Delia's Ham Hash Cakes using up some leftover Gammon. Also had some Soured Cream left from a dip I made so used the leftovers to make Soda Bread.;)
Tonight we are having some homemade Pizzas with some salad that is lurking at the back of the Fridge.
Hope you are all getting off to a good start.:D"WASTE NOT, WANT NOT!"GC for OH, myself, DD18 & DD16 includes Toiletries, cleaning stuff & Food.

*slides in shame-faced and waves at Rosieben*
Ok, can I come back please? I think I tried for about 6 months last year and failed the final three so stopped altogether in October. I have been keeping an eye on the spending and I am still spending about the same, I just don't seem to be able to get it down below about £320. So for January we are going to join the Storecupboard challenge too and aim for just £200, which I hope we can beat easily, even allowing for the odd takeaway with friends.
We have to pay out £4000 at the end of January and haven't got it right now so every spare penny is going into the pot, so I really need to do this. SunnyGirl said she would hold my hand so that will help!!
Hugs to all who need them - if I don't post on here and you see me on the boards - nag me to come and report please!!
Thanks to Pink, Rosie and Helen for keeping the thread going.
Diva.xTo be frugal, you need to spend money wisely, simply spending less is not enough. If you can't handle me at my worst then you don't deserve me at my best...Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the little voice at the end of the day that says I will try again tomorrow.0 -
I wasn't as organised as I'd like to have been this christmas so I'm joining in this thread - thought it might be of interest to others here. I rarely venture outside the OS board and I think I've been missing a lot of good stuff on the Christmas/Occasions board
hope there's not too much snow around today; we seem to have escaped the worst so far, just rain and a bit of light sleet.
mrT have just delivered and some really nice subs with price matching, I'm impressed!
have a good day all,... don't throw the string away. You always need string!
