    Our Humax recorder keeps freezing when playing live freeview tv - anyone come across this problem before or have any ideas how to cure it please?

    Which model? Have you got the latest software upgrade, which reputedly solved this problem? Released in November '09. If not, do a manual upgrade search.
    I believe this upgrade is for all models except the 9200T.
    No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

    Thanks, it's recording at the mo but will try the upgrade ASAP.

    It's a 9150T bought in Dec 09

    Then the odds are it that was built before the latest update was released. The Humax UK website will tell you which is the latest version, but you probably have an earlier release. If you look in the status menu it will show which version you have installed.
    Make sure it is left in standby overnight or you won't automatically get the new OTA releases.
    No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

    Switch off the power to the Humax for a few seconds, then turn back on, this usually cures it till the next time


    Take a look at the Digital Spy Humax forum, there are loads of problems with Humax PVRs, (as I assume with other PVRs as well)!
    Don`t steal - the Government doesn`t like the competition
