Im trying desperatly to get this wretched wii onto my wireless network but having no luck at all
i have a belkin f5D7633 modem (with talktalk)
the wii searches for an access point and picks up my network (with a strong signal). i then put my my netwrok password which it accepts. when i try to test the connection, i keep getting error code 52130. ive looked at the nintendo website and asked on other forums but its all too technical for me. is anyone able to help me step by step??
i would be eternally grateful

Hi Karen,
Happy to try and help, but it might need 'talking' though rather than back and forth on messages - but lets start:
Is your / do you have a laptop connected via wireless, and does it work OK ?0 -
birketov thank you so much
yes my laptop is wireless and works just fine.

OK - do you know for sure the security mode settings for it, eg WEP / WPA, and the security key ?0
-
Instead of choosing just wep, you may need to choose one of the other settings, just keep repeating what you are doing with the other settings.0
-
The other thing is to check the Router is set up to "allow new connections" automatically, as it might be blocking the Wii from making a new connection.0
-
you dont have anything like mac filtering set up on the router do you?
Also check you are using WEP security not WPA as this setting will need to be changed on the wii0 -
One thing you could try is to remove, temporarily, all fo the security settings from your router and see if the Wii will then connect. If it will you can then add the security settings back in one by one.
MAC filtering is a godd thing to check as madnlooney suggested. It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die0
