Phoned Cadbury's who said not to worry - you would have to eat at least 40 easter eggs to get Salmonella - reassuring? No!

notice that cadbury's knew about this in january....

cadbury's let us all buy loads of easter eggs and chocolate for fathers day before recalling the cocolate bars....

not many people buy chocolate now as it's to hot,

cadbury's can afford for sales to slump this time of year like it always does..

In Sainsbury's today an assistant was filling a trolley with the large mint bars from the shelves, I thought this was strange.

    Now I know why !

did you think she had a sweet tooth? lol

According to the MD this potential problem (which he claims effects less than 1% of product) has existed since January. He also said that the possible salmonella conatmination is 30 times lower than would cause sickness. However, I would have though that a single salmonella bug, or whatever they are, could cause you to get sick. It's not like a poison or something where you have to have a certain amount.
hi jenifer not so...we have probably all at some point eaten salmonella but its the quantity of bacteria that will effect/ not effect you, small amounts can be killed off by gut bacterai/stomache acid but larger amounts i.e in uncooked eggs etc because of their numbers can have the obvious effect...

I had some Dairymilk Turkish delight on Wednesday night & awoke in the early hours of Thursday morning with severe stomach pains. I spent a good part of Thursday on the loo until I managed to take some Immodium & even then I still felt sick, dizzy & achey-I am not convinced it's a coincidence.

I am disgusted that Cadburys think allowed dirty water to drip on to a production line is acceptable regardless of the salmonella link.

how can cadburys justify finding a leaking pipe months ago and not fixing the problem ?.
