Your input is much appreciated. Tim, can you give me some not so big brand names to investigate please? I don't mind doing the research but as it's difficult to find out for which brand you pay over the odds. I haven't yet come across a double sided pocket sprung (with memory foam on either side), but that sounds very interesting. Any link?
I've searched for quite a while now and just want to get something decent, meanwhile, my back hurts every morning because of my current mattress
Cheers all
I'm afraid I'm not allowed because I am in the trade.0 -
I bought my Bed from KDBeds - Very Helpful staff and a Price Match guarentee - Loads of beds to choose from & competitive pricing. My 1400 Pocket Sprung Latex Bed is being delivered next week, cant wait for a good nights sleep!
Oh and without wanting to join in on the argument, I can kind of see some peoples point about Tim Deegan. He has bagged a sale on his website from this thread alone and while that's considered acceptable ...he's not allowed to mention brand names ... It makes no sense ??2009 Savings & Winnings so far....Pigsback £15.06 +[strike]£40[/strike] M&S Vouchers + £20 New Look + TNS £15 Capital Bonds + Qype Ninja Goodies + £50 Virgin VoucherSealed Pot Challenge #589 - Target £1500 -

If someone has bought from myself, then they would have had to search to find my site, as I refuse to give out contact details on MSE either in the forums or via PM. Many people who have asked me will back this up.
I'm not on here to sell, I'm here to give impartial advice, and to tell the truth about all the hype and gimmicks used in the bed industry (this is probably the same in most industries). My aim is to stop people being conned into buying products that use gimmicks to sell themselves, and to explain what is good and what is bad about various mattress designs.
You only have to read the threads to see that I have given advice to many people who have bought products that i don't even sell, and I have been thanked many times for this.
I also give advice on fire safety, and electroplating, but I don't gain out of the advice I give on those subjects either.0 -
Sorry, inadvertently I seem to have caused an argument.
Of course I'm aware that some of you may give advice on your expertise which may or may not effect an indirect sale. I've read the other posts and was aware that Tim may well be a trader. However, I liked the indepth advice he provided on the basis that I would not have known whether refex foam is the same as normal memory foam. It gives me a chance to check out all the details including big brands. The fact that he didn't directly give me a brand name shows some integrity. I don't yet know where I will buy my mattress but I feel that I am better informed than I was before I looked at this post.
I don't feel that he has pressurised me in buying from him, the choice is mine and I may still go for the safe brand option anyway.
So cheers & peace everyone

Don't worry, it wasn't your fault. It was just a troll who goes around trying to cause trouble. They have used various identities on MSE, and have been kicked off before.0 -
As previously posted on an old thread, we bought a La Romantica Madrid king size, double sided, memory foam/pocket sprung mattress just under a year ago and it's been wonderful. It's the most comfortable mattress we've ever had and our initial worries about memory foam getting a bit 'humid' in the hot weather came to nothing. After trying out similar mattresses in the usual high street shops but getting fed up with the crazy prices and silly jargon, we bought ours online and paid just under £450 incl. delivery. It was money very well spent! I'm not sure what the current situation is here with regard to advertising so I won't mention the company we bought it from here but I'd be happy to give the details to anyone who contacts me.0

I recently purchased a bed and mattress from bedsavers.co.uk, i got a memory foam mattress, but i got a coolmax cover on it as this really helped with the heat issue i had with the last one.
I actually spent a while searching and found this site had really good offers and value for money. Hope you all manage to find something.
Nothing better than getting a good sleep0 -

Ouch!!!!!.....you didn't really pay their prices for a reflex foam/memory foam mattress did you?? They are very expensive for an on line seller.
Coolmax doesn't cool you down, it is a wicking fabric that takes the moisture away from your body, and stops you feeling clammy. If you want a fabric that actually regulates the temperature, then you would need to go for something like Climasmart or Outlast.0 -
Oops, having based all my research on a standard king size mattress, I've just realised that our current mattress seems to be 155 cm x 200 cm.
The standard is 150 cm but it's definitely more than that (and the bed fits more) but it's not as big as 160 thus is not EU size either. The bed is made from oak and the company where I bought it 10 years ago has since gone bust (Furnitureland).
Does anyone know where i could get a good pocket sprung mattress with good memory foam but in an odd size?
Cheers
