Anyone know if there are any TVs yet with Freeview HD tuners?

  • As far as I know, you're looking at sometime in the new year.

I did read that Humax have made a Freeview HD STB, also due out early next year.

That is kind of what I thought, just making sure I hadn't missed anything. I'd have thought they'd have already been making devices ready for it, since already transmitting here I think.

That's why I find it's strange there's no TVs/devices out already since it's already being broadcast.

  • The whole thing seems to have been badly planned. I am sure that I remember reading that there would be no room for HD channels on Freeview, which is why no company designed and produced Freeview HD boxes and TV sets.

Then 4-5 channels for HD were found on Freeview, the broadcasts started in December and we are waiting for the boxes and TV sets to catch up.

I think there's a Sony, but I've no idea if it's available here yet

There are two boxes on sale

You need to get your signals DIRECT from Winter Hill or Crystal Palace at the moment for these boxes to work. From UKtvfree ...

Yeah, a lot of money for a box that doesn't record.
