French, German doesn't matter you still have the EU directive which is similar to sale of goods act which means the onus is on the seller to get it repaired
Pixmania unless its changed is owned by DSGI group, Dixons, Currys
The trouble comes though when they ignore you and you need an English address to server the court papers to...0 -
True I then go back to credit card if camera is over £100 as they are jointly liable0

Pixmania have a shop and offices in the UK (their CS helpline is based in Liverpool if I remember rightly).
Took me around 6 months to get a refund from Pixmania when I had a faulty camera and it came in about 5 transactions. Fortunately I did manage to get my postage costs and phone call costs refunded at the end of it, and about a month after it all they sent me another camera (totally different make to the one I ordered)Never heard any more from them and I'd never buy from them again.

I'm sure you won't have to wait long for that time to come!! :rotfl:0 -
I just had a quick look at consumer laws in France...
They have a 1 month limit on repairs, and if they are away for repair for more than 7 days, the guarantee is extended. However, there's no 'grace' period where you can reject the goods for a refund.
Might be useful just in case they suddenly don't think they work under French law either.Squirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.
Now 20% cooler0 -

If you re-read i wanst pointing out the 6 month burden of proof, i was talking about the "reasonable" time to accept the goods and the difficulty to prove that goods bought a while back were not used, therefore not accepted until ChristmasBack by no demand whatsoever.0 -
Pixmania.....ha,ha,ha.
They are awful - you will most likely never get the problem sorted by dealing with them directly.
Have a look on MSE or google and see how truly shi7e they are.
Easiest way to solve it is to do a chargeback via the credit card or debit card company [only 120 days to do so].
I speak from personal experience wrt Pixmanias awful service.
BTW - 'i' before 'e' except after 'c' is a handy phrase.0
