  • HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

DD and I rolled in at 2.30 this morning - and I finally surfaced at 2pm (this is despite having talked to my mother at 10am! Hubby brought the phone to me!)

Not really done much today - cried at Dr Who and watched it snow - AGAIN!

Hugs to all who need them - my sole desire for this year is to see an improvement in DD1's health ( tho' if the gods are smiling a lottery win wouldn't go amiss!)

Little sis may pop in tomorrow - its weather dependent - I wonder where her pressie is?

Evening - well its almost tomorrow now

Another major computer crash tonight but hopefully sorted now.

DS found out that said friends DD had stayed over at were nasty to her because she beat them on a Wii fighting game. They told her she had anger management issues because she beat them  so she said nothing and just sat down, then when I went to collect her they were still playing but one them pretty much turned to her told her to go get her stuff and go. Little !!!!!es and theyre only 10. I think maybe next week that we wont be walking her to school and her mother can get up with her little brother and take her as it isnt the first time she's been a cow to her.

We have however made it up and she has given me some lovely huggles.

Have done some flying in our room - difficult to actually clean in there until its decluttered so did a couple of hours doing that (probably still needs about another 40 hours in there but its a start)

Caught up wiv fred again so

    Courgette - welcome and enjoy
greenbee - nice surprise with the extra £'s
Boddy - sorry to hear mum's not so good today

greenbee What I do with "found" money iyswim is I split it in half and on ehalf is used for savings or essential things like a car repair and the other half is split in half again and one half of this (i.e. 1/4 of original exceess) is used on "things" and the other on experiences.
If you particularly like gardens etc, things could be plants normally too expensive to buy or a bird table and the experience part used for an outing to visit a gardens or sommat iyswim.

Does this seem really anal? :D:rolleyes:
sounds a great idea... usually it just gets swallowed up in day-to-day spending or projects (like the garden) that end up costing more than I thought they would :o

I also heard of another part time but v. interesting job yesterday that may possibly be coming up. It's one I'd love to do. So maybe that's what my 2010 is going to be about - income from different streams rather than one main one. I don't think I've ever mentioned that I've passed a preliminary interview about six weeks ago to work for NatCen as a freelance interviewer and am going on a training course at the end of Jan.

But I'm rambling and I've just discovered there's the original Italian Job on the TV so I shall enjoy that!

Well done on the jobs! A few different things will certainly make your life more interesting.

Bit OT but has anyone ever taken 2 contraceptive pill packets after each other without a break and not had a period? I am getting quite worried as AF has not appeared yet and I do not want another baby. Hope I havent offended anyone who may be TTC but am just worried and needed to offload a bit.
I used to do 9 weeks on one week off (or run more packs together if I didn't want to see AF :o) and it was fine, but the longer you take them for, in general the longer AF takes to turn up. I did, sadly, also find that I had to change pills every year or so as I got used to them and they stopped working. So I gave up on them a couple of years ago (not deliberately, it's just that after 15 years I suddenly found I was forgetting to take them, so it seemed safest to not take them and that way I'd at least know what was going on!)

L-L - I hope that things work out for you both

Poppy - flylady vibes will be winging your way tomorrow. If it gets tough, remember we're there for you

Piggers - hope things get a bit easier. We're here if you need a rant...

toots - just remember to pace yourself and take time to stop and enjoy life!

Junk read.... clothes put away... stove annoying me as although I've now got it working beautifully with the seasoned logs my dad gave me, I can't get it burning hot enough to get the solid fuel going. I've also got hip pain from being lazy over the last few days, but really don't feel like a walk in the cold and dark to loosen it up. So i'm off to bed with a trashy novel and hot water bottles, and will try to get up and do stuff tomorrow instead... mind you, I say that every day!

You see, that's why no one in real life knows who I am on here... you can always rant in private if you want....

jo - if you're thinking of moving to London, remember that there are plenty of us on here who can help (not soappie though... she's allergic to the place :p:p)

Better go and make the last hot water bottle and get to bed...

Aww Piggers, you shouldn't have had a bad new years eve, no fair, you need some fun, laughter and good times....:kisses3::grouphug::hello: they're for you...too late you can't undo them.:p xx

Anyways, heading for bed in a mo, just off to take my medicine then get ready for bed.

Managed to decant 4 large containers of turkey stock, now in freezer.

Taken a beef joint out to defrost for sunday.

I'll be glad to get some semblence of a routine back, not least because I haven't had any time to myself because people are always here.

I've found my plans for the day don't appear to match up with other people's plans for me for the day, so I'll be very glad when my OH is back at work and I can organise myself ;).
