Going to hang out here until DD has finished watching Return to Neverland (she's already watched Polar Express & Jungle Book 2 while I've been busy) as I can't go to bed just yet as my bedding is still wet  So thought I would post this now :
I'd like to wish everyone a VERY Happy New Year, and best wishes for 2010. Here's hoping its better than 2009!

The Dash Poem
by Linda Ellis
I read of a man who stood to speak
At the funeral of a friend.
He referred to the dates on her tombstone
From the beginning to the end.
He noted that first came the date of her birth
And spoke of the following date with tears,
But he said what mattered most of all
Was the dash between those years.
For that dash represents all the time
That she spent alive on earth
And now only those who loved her
Know what that little line is worth.
For it matters not, how much we own,
The cars, the house, the cash,
What matters is how we live and love
And how we spend our dash.
So think about this long and hard;
Are there things you'd like to change?
For you never know how much time is left
That can still be rearranged.
If we could just slow down enough
To consider what's true and real
And always try to understand
The way other people feel.
And be less quick to anger
And show appreciation more
And love the people in our lives
Like we've never loved before.
If we treat each other with respect
And more often wear a smile,
Remembering that this special dash
Might only last a little while.
So when your eulogy is being read
With your life's actions to rehash
Would you be proud of the things they say
About how you spent your dash?

Well anyway I have done my ironing- did most of it last night .
I am going to bed now as I know that if I stay up will be sad not t have someone to kiss and more importantly will be shattered tomorrow when DS wakes me at 6!!January Grocery 11/3740 -

Well he's back to Newcastle, turns out she was going past Gosforth & roads seem ok up there so I think I can leave that flask a bit longer. Trying the bicarb thanks soappie, I tend to use milton but can't find it. He mentioned the thunderstorms so I am keeping torches handy, I might get some candles out more so because I like them. I know I won't sleep tonight until he is home, boys can go to bed with clothes on. Oh I hate his job sometimes.
Another load in the drier, think I might have to go against that rule that says no laundry on NY Day.One day I might be more organised...........
