Thanks to all especially DCFC79 I had watched you video but hadnt checked the second link. I have now and it does state that this is the precedure to create a child's account. I will sort it tomorrow and once his account has been created I will take off the credit card details.

sorry i wasnt able to answer your question much earlier as i hadnt created a childs account so wasnt 100% sure if card details were needed,
glad your all AOK0 -
when you create an account, if you link it to an e-mail address that has been registered as 18+ you should not have to enter credit card details.
Also, if you do link your xbox live to a child account then you will be restricted on live, you might not be able to talk to people online unless they are added, gametrailers that you might want to watch may be blocked, and a lot of the time you will have to enter your parents e-mail address and password to get access to these.
Again, new features like the Facebook application, Last.fm and Zune video viewer will not be able to be accessed by child accounts until Xbox release an update.
Hope this helpsNicotine Free since 01.08.2010 :j:j:j

Thanks
We decided to change the date of birth to mine so I didnt have to put in the details and yesterday a friend also said we would be restricted for trailers and game demos. The xbox is not in his bedroom and it in view and earshot so I am not too worried.
Thanks for all the advice0 -
If you create a profile for yourself first, then let you son create a profile, you can set controls regarding games and accessing features under family settings.
This give the flexibility to play with friends that you know and can trust - but you've hit the nail on the head:
education and supervision, in moderation so as not to cramp their style, is the key.it in view and earshot so I am not too worried
They'll understand more if you are involved and will appreciate the trust you place in them.
But be prepared to be ruthless if they break that trust, my boys have had a near 2 month ban last year on the ps2!
They know what happens if they try it on the 360!4kWp, SSE, SolarEdge P300 optimisers & SE3500 Inverter, in occasionally sunny Corby, Northants.
Now with added Sunsynk 5kw hybrid ecco inverter & 15kWh Fogstar batteries. Oh Octopus Energy too.0 -
