DVD recorders and Sky+

Yes you can remove your DVD player and replace it with your DVD recorder. There are two SCART outputs on the back of your Sky+ box, plug one into the TV and the other into your DVD recorder. Then if your TV have two SCART inputs you can plug your DVD recorder in to your TV as well and simply select your source from your TV remote.0

Oh, cack! The surround speakers don't fit into the new dvd recorder. New question - can I keep the sky+ box and my existing dvd player with surround sound, but still add the dvd recorder?
It's at times like this, I wish I were still married! lol

Yes of course, although it helps if you have more than two inputs to your TV, otherwise you will be swapping SCART cables over.0

I've made a right mess of this!
Have used a scart splitter and connected the dvd recorder to the tv, and also to the sky plus box. Now neither the dvd recorder nor the sky plus are working - help!

......... and creating a home media centre which would allow you far better recording and playback options."A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi

Sorry, I'm very technically challenged and have no idea how to connect the stuff together to work basically, never mind anything complicated lol

ok unplug everything you've added, go back to just Sky+ & your TV (connected I assume by Scart).
1) Unplug the scart cable at the TV end.
2) Plug it into the Scart input on the DVD Recorder
3) Plug a 2nd Scart cable from the DVD Recorder Scart OUTPUT, and run it to the scart socket you were previously using on the TV.
4) You should now be running your Sky+ box through the DVD recorder, and as such anything that's being watched on the TV (such as a Sky+ recording) can now be recorded onto a DVD.

Thanks, Pete. Unfortunately, now I can't remember where anything was before and nothing's working except the normal tv (which I never use as I usually watch via sky+)
I'm totally lost now...might have to bite the bullet and 'get a man in!'
